Meet Jodi Cohen Perry,

My path to coaching wasn’t a straight line. It started with a wake-up call.

A few years back, I was a hyped up type-A personality, leading a quick paced life. Overscheduled. Overworked. Overactive. I never knew any other way… that is until a personal medical trauma completely stopped me in my tracks.That was especially tough for someone who was always on the go! 

After some time spent feeling sorry for myself, I knew I had to change my trajectory. I came to the realization that medical solutions were only going to be a piece of my recovery and if I was going to change the course of my future I needed to take action. My experience set me on a journey to delve deep into the wellness world and through lots of research and study I began to heal myself through nutrition, lifestyle changes and what I refer to as complete mind-body wellness.

That experience became a defining moment in how I live, lead, and guide others. It taught me firsthand what it means to rebuild from the inside out, and why we can’t afford to wait for life to stop us in our tracks to make change. We have the power to take action before we’re forced to, on our own terms.

That is how Beyond the Plate was born.

That belief is at the heart of my work.

With an extensive background in education, psychology and mind-body wellness, I support adults, college students and teens through my life coaching program. Whether you're navigating a life transition, facing burnout, struggling with confidence or looking for the motivation to work on personal goals, we start by assessing your “life plate”. We start with a conversation…your story, your habits, your goals. Are you making your physical, emotional and mental health a priority? We do this by assessing how you are “feeding” each area of your life plate.

Our plates shift as life evolves. Every once in a while, it’s time to pause and take stock. My strength is in meeting people where they are, listening deeply, asking the right questions, and helping you build a clear, grounded path forward. I’ve experienced first hand how small, intentional steps can create powerful, lasting change. Using mindset work, habit stacking, resilience building and a deep dive into mind-body wellness, I’ll help you design a life that happens for you—not to you.
